The Columbus Blue Jackets were able to put another W on the board last night thanks to Cam Atkinson and William Karlsson who scored powerplay goals helping the Blue Jackets beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-1 on Tuesday night to psuh their winning streak to 16 games - one away from the longest ever in the NHL.
Captain Nick Foligno also scored for Columbus, who will be looking to tie the 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins with a win Thursday night in Washington. The close to sellout crowd chanted ''We want 16!'' as time expired.
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 21 shots for Columbus, which continued their winning ways after winning all 14 games in December. The Blue Jackets haven't lost since Nov. 26.
It was all pretty last night though, as one Columbus player took a couple of L's on the same shift. Blue Jackets Brandon Dubinsky was crunched as he was going for a puck along the boards, not liking the hit too much even though it was clean, Dubinsky decided to drop the gloves with Oilers forward Patrick Maroon. The fight didn't fare much better for him either.
