Panthers Coach Not Happy With "Dirty Hit"

The biggest reason that the defending Atlantic Division champions, the Florida Panthers, are on the outside looking when it comes to a playoff spot this season is injuries. You can now add Seth Griffith to the Panthers list of players who have missed time this year which includes Jonathan Huberdeau, Nick Bjugstad, Aleksander Barkov and Alex Petrovic.

Grffith was knocked out of Wednesday night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets after a high hit from Nikolai Ehlers in the neutral zone, away from the puck. Griffith tried to play one more shift after the incident below, but it only lasted three seconds.

Panthers head coach Tom Rowe was not happy about the hit, on which he confirmed Griffith suffered a concussion, and did not hold back during his postgame press conference, per the Miami Herald.

“It was a dirty hit by Ehlers, he deliberately did it,” Rowe said. “I don’t care what anyone says. I saw it on video, it’s a dirty hit.”

The big question is, if Griffith suffered a concussion on the play why was he allowed to try to take another shift? Was the concussion spotter out getting a hot dog?
