Jaromir Jagr has been rewriting the record books this season, of course most recently passing Mark Messier to gain sole possession on the NHL's all-time scoring list.

“The Great One” Wayne Gretzky is of course the only player in NHL history with more points than Jagr, even though Jagr will never catch up to Gretzky on the all-time list, tonight he passed another former Oiler and a former Penguin teammate.

Jagr passed Paul Coffey for sole possession of fifth for most assists in the NHL. He know has 1136 assists in 1668 games, and while Wayne Gretzky sits far ahead in the number one spot with 1963, Jagr could possibly move in to fourth.

Legendary defenseman Ray Bourque sits in fourth place with 1169 assists all time, a mark Jagr could possibly hit by the end of season and would definitely hit if he decided to play next year.

Jagr's latest achievement came with the Panthers down 2-0 tonight against the Winnipeg Jets at home. He picked up the assist on Greg McKegg's second period goal that got the Panthers on the board and within one.
