While the Toronto Maple Leafs are starting to contend for a Stanley Cup playoff berth this season, they still can’t figure out the Montreal Canadiens.  After Saturday night’s 5-3 loss to their old rival, the Leafs have now lost 13 straight games to the Habs, going 0-9-4 during this span.

You can always expect plenty of post-whistle pleasantries when these two teams get together and Saturday night at the Air Canada Centre was no different! Midway through the second period, Matt Martin ran over Canadiens defenseman Jeff Petry which started a multi-player skirmish that included Frederik Gauthier, Bobby Farnham and Michael McCarron.

Later in the game, Leafs forward Zach Hyman went crashing into star goaltender Carey Price with a little help for Alexei Emelin of the Habs.

Price has already had a couple of outbursts this season and it looked like another one was coming, but he was able to hold it together.

In all, the Maple Leafs and Canadiens combined for 76 total penalty minutes.
