The Boston Bruins picked up a huge victory over the Dallas Stars and their old friend Tyler Seguin on Thursday night to keep the push to the playoffs going.

Unfortunately, there was a very scary moment late in the third period of the Bruins 2-0 win as Dallas forward Curtis McKenzie suffered a possible eye injury.  The incident occurred with McKenzie caught an accidental high stick from Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller off a faceoff and left the ice a bloody messy.

Warning, this video is rather graphic.

The Stars confirmed that McKenzie was taken to an area hospital to close up a cut on his eye.  He will not travel with his teammates for Saturday night’s game at the Carolina Hurricanes.

Shortly after the first announcement, the team said that the injury did occur to the eyeball itself, but rather to soft tissue which is encouraging news.

Update on McKenzie from PR: It looks like it is soft tissue, not the eyeball. It will be re-assessed at the hospital.
