The Arizona Coyotes are 0-2-0 to start the season after losses to the Anaheim Ducks and Vegas Golden Knights.  On Monday, the team decided to send one of their top prospects back to down to the minors as Dylan Strome was reassigned to Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League.

Strome was originally drafted by the Coyotes with the third overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He had an assist in seven NHL games last season following the end of his career with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League.  He was held off the scoresheet in the first games of this season.

Head coach Rick Tocchet told Sarah McLellan of AZ Central that the decision to demote Strome was so he can get more playing time than he was getting with the Coyotes. He also said that he fully expects him to back this season.

Tocchet looking for Strome to get quicker into situations/think quicker. If he sees that growth, Strome will be back.
