After Carey Price made the announcement this morning that he'll need some more time to fully recover from his "minor" injury, the Canadiens were pro-active and claimed a goalie off waivers.

What makes the situation even weirder is that it's a goalie who many wondered if he would even play in the NHL again.

The Canadiens claimed Antti Niemi off waivers, and he's expected to be Charlie Lindgren's backup while Al Montoya is sidelined with a concussion.

The team had called up goalie prospect Zach Fucale to backup Lindgren recently after placing Price on IR.

Niemi has had a VERY bad season so far, but he remains an experienced goalie who can give Charlie Lindgren good advice and has already won the Stanley Cup with Chicago ... we know that Marc Bergevin likes former Blackhawks.

The Finn goalie has played in five games this season, and has let in a disastrous 21 goals.

Does this mean that Carey Price's injury may be more serious than he suggested at his press conference? Is Price done for the season?
