Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry is one of the players that opposing fans and players love to hate. While he is a great offensive talent, he has had his fair share of questionable plays on the ice which draws ire of many.
Perry was left bloodied on Friday night after he caught the butt-end of Winnipeg Jets defenseman Ben Chirarot right in the face.
The NHL’s Department of Player Safety was quick to react and fined Chiarot $3,763.44, the maximum amount allowed under the collective bargaining agreement.
Jets fans have no love for Corey Perry after he broke the finger of Mathieu Perreualt last season with a slash. In fact, one fan has gone the extra mile and started a GoFundMe page to raise the money of Chirarot’s fine.
The $3763.44 will be donated to the Christmas Cheer Board in Ben’s name, which is a local charity who provides food and toys for children in need during the holidays. The page has been up for 22 hours and has already raised nearly $2700!
