The Washington Capitals entered the NHL bubble as one of the top teams in the league.
They didn't have to go through the qualifier and instead played during the round robin.
However it was a disappointing performance that ended with the team eliminated after the first round of the playoffs and their head coach getting fired.
In total, Washington was only able to win two out of eight games.
According to NHL and Minnesota Wild insider Michael Russo of The Athletic, the team just didn't want to be there and instead turned it into one big party.
“Yeah, well, I mean the stories from inside the bubble about the Caps basically turning it into a vacation, having pool parties and things like that, you pretty much knew that they had no interest in being there,”
It was a very disappointing performance and that would explain it.
