The chatter continues to build regarding the Buffalo Sabres and what roster changes might occur between now and the start of the 2020-21 season.
Jack Eichel's name tops the list and while it's not official, many believe he wants out of Buffalo.
The asking price of course would be steep, just as steep as his contract which carries a $10million AAV through 2025-26.
Regardless of salary cap restraints, one team has always found a way to land big names in big trades and that's the San Jose Sharks.
Could they land Eichel?
Brian Witt of NBC Sports Bay Area believes so.
Witt points out how Sharks general manager Doug Wilson has always found a way including recent trades landing Erik Karlsson and Evander Kane.
It would obviously require a big name going the other way and Witt believes a package that starts with Brent Burns could get it done.
Burns along with Ryan Merkley, Jonathan Dahlen, a first round pick and maybe Timo Meier as a sweetener to get it done.
What do you think of this trade?
Jack Eichel is frustrated with the Sabres. If he demands a trade, the Sharks shouldn't be counted out (via @Wittnessed)https://t.co/XZLtUA4eUl pic.twitter.com/T02XDLKv8q
