Philadelphia Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds is one of the most talked about trade candidates at the moment topping a lot of trade bait boards.
While it's almost inevitable that Simmonds is traded, he hasn't been traded yet.
However last night Philadelphia Inquirer/Daily News reporter Sam Carchidi reported a trade last night that involved the Flyers and Edmonton Oilers.
Carchidi reported that the Flyers had sent Simmonds to the Oilers in exchange of Jesse Puljujarvi and goalie Cam Talbot, however his report was based off a fake screenshot of a TSN Twitter account.
Once the started started to catch buzz on the internet, the NHL's top insider Bob McKenzie, called out Carchidi immediately and Carchidi had to eventually take down his report.
Check out some of the Tweets below:
Now, did one of the TSN branded radio stations report something? Don’t know. Not that we’re aware of. Are you sure it wasn’t a fake account? Or someone who fabricated a screen cap? Anyway, just curious because we haven’t seen it.
