The much anticipated meeting between the NHL and Quebec City representatives happened on Thursday afternoon.

Quebec City hasn’t wanted a hockey team back for decades now and even built an arena in anticipation but have been given the cold shoulder for years.

With a handful of teams across the league struggling financially and those struggles intensified because of COVID there’s been chatter that the door might finally be open.

Following Thursday’s meeting, commissioner Gary Bettman released a statement.
