The New Jersey Devils announced on Friday that Nikita Gusev has been placed on waivers for the purpose of contract termination.

The forward's time in New Jersey has come to an end but he'll be looking for a new home.

According to NHL insider Chris Johnston, Gusev is looking to sign with a team on Monday.

"Nikita Gusev hopes to find another NHL job once his contract is terminated by the Devils tomorrow. If he signs somewhere before 3 p.m. on Monday, he's eligible to play games in this year's playoffs."

The 28 year old has just 5 points in 20 games so far this season but registered 44 in 66 last year.
