While 24 teams are preparing to head to their hub city, the remaining teams are making plans for next season.

One team has already reportedly made a bit of a blockbuster decision.

Former NHLer and NHL Network analyst Kevin Weeks reported tonight that the New Jersey Devils have hired their next head coach.

According to Weekes, the Devils will go with veteran coach Lindy Ruff.

Along with hiring Ruff, the Devils are also expected to remove the interim GM tag from Tom Fitzgerald and officially give him the position.

Ruff has been an assistant coach with the New York Rangers since 2017 and looks to have beaten out other top candidates in current interim coach Alain Nasreddine, Peter Laviolette, Gerard Gallant and John Stevens.

What do you think of this hire for a team thats rebuilding?
