As we get closer to the NHL trade deadline, two big trade chips are officially off the board.
The New Jersey Devils have traded forwards Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac.
Zajac and Palmieri are headed to the New York Islanders for AJ Greer, Mason Jobst, a 2021 1st round pick and a conditional 2022 4th round pick.
The Devils also retained 50% of Palmieri and Zajac's salary.
Palmieri had been linked to the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs as well.
