One of the star players that has been rumored to be on the market this season is Columbus Blue Jackets goalie Sergei Bobrovsky.
The goalie is UFA after this season and is expected to ask for "Carey Price money", which means a maximum contract worth about $10million a season.
However right now it looks like that won't be with the Blue Jackets as the team has basically suspended him internally.
The team announced this morning that "an incident occurred which Sergei failed to meet those expectations and values, so we made the decision that he would not be with the team for tonight's game. This is an internal matter and we will have no further comment at this time".
While it's not an official suspension, it definitely sounds like the team is extremely upset with the goalie and he has been disciplined. The team has called up goalie JF Berube.
More details to come.
Blue Jackets don’t call this a suspension in their release, but effectively sounds like one for Bobrovsky. https://t.co/IuqzFenVAP
