Training camps opened across the NHL on Monday with the fear of COVID-19 over the heads of all teams and today we have the first COVID-19 news of the 2020-2021 season.
The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today that all hockey related activities were put on hold after possible COVID-19 case.
The Jackets have been unwilling to confirm at this time whether a player has tested positive, but the practice that was scheduled to take place today is now called off.
Hopefully the NHL will be as successful as the NFL in controlling outbreaks, even though there was some shuffling, all NFL games were played this season.
More details will follow.
CLUB STATEMENT: The Columbus Blue Jackets have held a number of players out of today’s scheduled practice out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with NHL Covid-19 protocols.
