After a couple of weeks with his future in limbo, free agent forward Ilya Kovalchuk has made a decision.
Kovalchuk and the Montreal Canadiens announced that they've agreed on a one year contract worth $700k.
What makes the deal even more interesting is that Kovalchuk accepted a two way contract which will see him get paid $70k in the AHL.
Kovalchuk walked away from the Los Angeles Kings earlier this season and eventually mutually terminated their contract together.
The veteran forward has registered 19 goals and 24 assists in 81 games for the Kings since returning to the NHL.
