The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas surprised some people across the NHL on Thursday with their latest roster move.
Dubas announced that they team had placed a forward on waivers.
Nick Ritchie finds himself on waivers for the next 24 hours after being signed by the Leafs during the offseason.
He was supposed to help fill in on one of the top two lines after scoring 15 goals in 56 games for the Boston Bruins last year but just hasn't fit in the.
The 26 year old has registered just 1 goal in 30 games despite having plenty of opportunity to play with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner.
Ritchie's contract runs through the 2022-23 season with an AAV of $2.5million.
Would you take a shot on the forward?
