The Buffalo Sabers caused quite a stir Monday when they decided to place forward Matt Moulson on waivers, and the former 30 goal scorer now knows where the next stop in his career will be.
Moulson sparked absolutely zero interest by the other 30 NHL teams and he will now have to report to the Sabers AHL team located in Rochester.
The 34-year-old left-winger has failed to record a point in 14 NHL games this year, he was never able to make his mark in Buffalo after putting up three 30-goal seasons alongside John Tavares in New York.
He can clearly thank Tavares for his massive $5million a year salary, just another name in a group of players who have gone on to sign massive free agent deals after playing with the Islanders center.
Some fans would have liked to see Moulson with the Montreal Canadiens to bring depth to the bottom 6, but his $5million contract is just simply way too much for a player who's looked like a passenger for a couple years now.
Do you think this is the end for Moulson in the NHL?
