Just 24 hours before the New York Rangers season opener, they've already got a disgruntled forward.
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, 21 year old forward Vitali Kravtsov has requested a trade out of NY and the team has granted him permission to seek a trade.
While that makes general manager Chris Drury's job a bit easier, it's not exactly the news they wanted just before the season opener.
The 2018 9th overall pick spent the majority of last season in the KHL where he registered 24 points in 49 games which included 16 goals before jumping over to the NHL where he registered 4 points in 20 games which included 2 games.
Kravstov is in the final year of his entry level contract which carries a $925k salary.
More details to come.
Hearing NYR have given Vitali Kravtsov permission to contact other clubs in seek of a trade. Kravtsov did not make the Opening Day roster.
