The NHL Department Of Player Safety announced this morning that they would have a hearing with Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy.
The Bruins' defenseman laid down a big hit on Columbus Blue Jackets forward Josh Anderson.
The hit resulted in McAvoy being given a two minute minor for an illegal hit to the head as Anderson lay on the ice.
Department of Player Safety decided that wasn't enough as they've given McAvoy a one game suspension which means he'll miss Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
