Last night was the ending of the NHL's exhibition games as team's get ready for real action on Saturday.

Unfortunately last night we also saw our first dirty hit of the NHL's Return To Play action.

Vegas Golden Knights forward Ryan Reaves came along the boards and delivered a borderline hit to the head on Arizona Coyotes forward Nick Schmaltz.

In slow motion it pretty clearly looks like a head shot as Reaves pummels Schmaltz.

The Coyotes forward wasn't able to stay in the game because of the hit.

Many believed it was a suspension worthy hit, however the NHL feels otherwise.

John Shannon reports that the NHL looked at the hit and deemed it "unavoidable".

That means no suspension is coming for Reaves.

Do you think the NHL made the right decision?
