Yesterday Evander Kane was the talk of the town across the NHL again and not for his scoring ability.
Kane got into it with Vegas defenseman Deryk Engelland and slashed him after getting a cross check from Engelland. The refs and linesmen were following the action the whole time and tried to break it up, resulting in one official tackling Kane to the ice which Kane didn't appreciate and tried to push the official off of him.
Kane did not agree with the penalty at all.
"I get kicked out of the game for getting jumped from behind by a referee," Kane said following the loss. "I've never seen a ref take five strides. If you look at his face, he's getting all this power and he's trying to drive me into the ice, which is what he did. That's unbelievable. Talk about abuse of an official? How about abuse of a player? It's an absolute joke."
Usually a 10 game suspension comes with the penalty, but because it was a peculiar incident, many believed he would get less.
Kane has been suspended for three games by the NHL.
