After some shocking news on Wednesday with Zdeno Chara leaving the Boston Bruins, we've got some surprising news on Thursday.
The Columbus Blue Jackets might be on the brink of losing their best player.
With training camp starting in just a couple of days, Blue Jackets forward Pierre Luc Dubois remains unsigned and has not travelled to Columbus yet to prepare for camp.
According to NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, Dubois has possibly requested a trade.
LeBrun reports that various teams around the league believe the forward wants out of Columbus and wishes to start the season somewhere else.
Dubois and head coach John Tortorella had a famous blow up last year that was caught on camera.
The 22 year old is a restricted free agent and is coming off a season where he registered 49 points in 70 games and added 10 points in 10 games during the bubble playoffs.
He was selected #3 overall by Columbus at the 2016 NHL Draft.
Pierre-Luc Dubois is not in Columbus as camp approaches and remains unsigned. And now there are rumblings from a few teams around the league that Dubois may be looking for a change of scenery. Maybe wishful thinking on their part. But stay tuned on this one.
