It's been a very hectic morning for the New York Rangers.
Earlier today it was revealed by Larry Brooks of the New York Post that Artemi Panarin would be taking a leave of absence after some abuse allegations came out in the media in Russia.
Brooks added that the Rangers would be making statement which they just did.
The Rangers are backing their forward 100% and believe it's a smear campaign.
"Artemi vehemently and unequivocally denies any and all allegations in this fabricated story. This is clearly an intimidation tactic being used against him for being outspoken on recent political events. Artemi is obviously shaken and concerned and will take some time away from the team. The Rangers fully support Artemi and will work with him to identify the source of these unfounded allegations."
This is a story that is definitely not going away anytime soon.
