One of the most confusing yet interesting franchises in the NHL at the moment is the Vancouver Canucks.
The team has some great young talent in Bo Horvat and Brock Boeser but at the same time just handed out some of the worst free agent contracts of the summer when they signed Jay Beagle and Antoine Roussel.
There's been some rumors over the last year that the team would like to move Christopher Tanev, however it looks like it's another defenseman that the team has been really trying to trade.
J.D. Burke of The Athletic reports that the Canucks have been desperately trying to trade defenseman Ben Hutton.
Unfortunately for the Canucks, there's been nobody willing to take on Hutton and his $2.8million cap hit for the rest of this season, Burke even claims the Canucks have been trying to move him since the start of last season.
While Hutton's offensive stats have declined, his defensive analytics show he's still a very reliable player and it's apparently his relationship with head coach Travis Green that has the defenseman standing with a for sale sign.
