As coronavirus numbers spike in certain areas of North America, debate continues about public security measures.
One of the biggest debates revolves around wearing a mask.
That same debate is why one Vancouver Canucks forward is coming under fire on social media.
Forward Jake Virtanen posted a video of himself on Instagram at a night club in Vancouver and he wasn't wearing a mask or social distancing.
The video made so much noise that the Canucks were forced to release a small statement.
“Jake is not yet in phase 2 of the NHL’s return to play plan, nor is he in quarantine. He’ll be tested before he re-joins the team for any training,”
The team added that the issue has been taken care of internally.
There's video circulating of Jake Virtanen at Celebrities Nightclub in #Vancouver. The #Canucks tell me it's been addressed internally. "Jake is not yet in phase 2 of the NHL's return to play plan, nor is he in quarantine. He'll be tested before he re-joins the team." @NEWS1130
