The Vancouver Canucks are in the middle of a pretty tense series against the Minnesota Wild.

The Canucks got shut out 3-0 in their first game and many people are ready to stick a fork in them and send them home.

It seems that whenever the Canucks' offseason comes around, we can expect some changes for the team including moving on from one young forward who just had his best season yet.

Jake Virtanen is set to become a restricted free agent once the season is done and it sounds like his future isn't in Vancouver.

Despite registering 18 goals and 18 assists for a career high 36 points this season, reports indicate that the coaching staff and management just aren't interested in moving forward with him.

"I just get the feeling they're done with Jake. This is his 1st opportunity to play in a postseason, and this happens. Travis Green has seen Virtanen since 2014, he doesn't believe in him. He's seen his act. Are they going to commit to him? No way" said Don Taylor of TSN 1040 in Vancouver.

The 23 year old has received some criticism for his defensive play but could be a prime candidate for another career year with a change of scenery.
