The Carolina Hurricanes have let it be known that they're currently looking for offensive help and they might be willing to move a big name.
Just a couple of months after landing him through trade, it sounds like the Hurricanes are ready to move on from defenseman Dougie Hamilton.
Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet mentioned on Hockey Night In Canada that the 'Canes would be more than willing to move him in a package.
"Another name I’m curious about is Dougie Hamilton. They have four right-shot [defensemen], they have been asked about Hamilton. If you’re willing to come back at them with a score, I think that they would consider doing it."
Hamilton was the big piece in the trade that sent Elias Lindholm and Noah Hanifin to the Calgary Flames during the summer.
Usually an offensive defenseman, Hamilton only has 14 points in 41 games so far this season.
