Some unfortunate news out of the hockey world on Tuesday.

The Arizona Coyotes have announced that they've granted head coach Rick Tocchet a leave of absence to deal with a family illness.

The team announced the news through their website on Monday and added that Assistant Coach John MacLean will take over head coaching duties until Tocchet returns.

Genearl manager John Chayka made a statement through the press release.

"Family comes first," Chayka said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Toc as he deals with this personal matter. It's important that he takes the time to be there with his family."

Everybody at Hockey Insiders would like to send our thoughts and prayers to the Toccet family during this time.
