After Toronto Maple Leafs' forward Mitch Marner signed his contract with the Leafs after a brief holdout, the most talked about restricted free agent has been Edmonton Oilers forward Jesse Puljujarvi.
The Oilers' forward has been holding out in hopes he would get traded and sign a new contract somewhere else.
In the meantime Puljujarvi has been playing for Karpat of the SM-liiga and has looked good with 11 goals and 13 assists in 25 games so far this season.
Despite looking good, Oilers general manager Ken Holland said he wouldn't give Puljujarvi away and would only move him for his specific price.
With December 1 now passed us, even if Puljujarvi gets traded this season he won't be playing in the NHL this year.
Since he didn't sign a contract before the 5pm EST December 1 deadline, he's no longer eligible to play for any team this season.
We can expect him to be traded sometime this summer.
