The New York Rangers had a disappointing season and some heads rolled as the team looks towards a rebuild.

The team traded their captain Ryan McDonagh along with JT Miller, Rick Nash, Michael Grabner and Nick Holden, then when the season was over, they fired their head coach Alain Vigneault.

The Rangers coach had helped lead the team to one Stanley Cup finals and put together mostly successful seasons.

However, it looks like Vigneault's firing might have had more to do with just a rebuild as the Rangers players don't seem too broken up.

“It’s sad, for sure. But it’s like with the players — you trade players, and it’s a business,” Mats Zuccarello said “Nothing you can do about it. It’s part of it. I’ve been here with them for five years and it’s really sad to see stuff like that happen. It’s nothing you can control.”

“You don’t want to see guys leave, but things happen,” Mika Zibanejad said.

Regardless of if the Rangers gave up on their coach, Vigneault should have no problem finding a new job.
