The New York Islanders have been a pretty quiet team during free agency.

It's mostly because they have a pretty big in house contract to take care of.

Young superstar Mathew Barzal is currently a restricted free agent and he'll be cashing in on a big pay day.

The 23 year old has been one of the most consistent Islanders over the last couple of years and will likely eat up most of the $8.9million in cap space the Islanders have left.

According to Empire Sports, Isles' general manager Lou Lamoriello is looking to sign Barzal to a deal that carries an AAV of $7.5million.

That might not be what Barzal wants to sign for, however it's a pretty fair deal considering the current climate.

What would it take for Barzal to sign an offer sheet?

Empire Sports believes it would probably take the top tier offer of around $10.9million AAV which if the Isles didn't match would land them four first round picks!

Do you think any team would be willing to sign Barzal to this type of deal?
