It's one of the biggest subjects across the NHL right now and it's not going away anytime soon.
Patrik Laine wants out of Winnipeg and the Jets will keep him in Winnipeg until they get exactly what they want.
They're not going to move the young sniper at a bargain price and it's clear they'd rather let him walk to free agency down the line.
Now we've got a bit of an idea on what exactly the Jets are looking for as NHL insider Dave Pagnotta revealed what the Jets want from the Carolina Hurricanes, a team that has been making a strong push for the forward.
"The Carolina Hurricanes are still very much interested in Patrik Laine, I'm told. The asking price remains an issue, though, as the Winnipeg Jets seem to want Pesce & Necas in a deal and so far Carolina has balked."
Pretty big demands from the Jets.
Furthering what Dave reports, Pesce appears to be the key stumbling block here. Top 4 D who drives play and has a comfortable 4M cap hit for four more seasons. https://t.co/Huc80s1mTl
