The Columbus Blue Jackets open up their season tomorrow night in Nashville against the Predators but the the drama has already started.
Blue Jacket's forward Pierre-Luc Dubois has requested a trade out of Columbus however the Blue Jackets and general manager Jarmo Kekalainen have made it clear Dubois is going nowhere until they get what they want in trade.
While Dubois has said he'll be professional and do everything he can to help the Blue Jackets win while he's still there, it doesn't seem like head coach John Tortorella is going to take it easy on him.
While appearing on local radio, Tortorella confirmed on air that Dubois has requested a trade and Tortorella followed that up by calling the young forward out for not having an honest conversation with his teammates.
“He wants out.”
"(Dubois) hasn't given a reason why he wants to leave. He should get in front of it. That's the way I think you should go about your business, and be the best team you can be."
Ouch! Sounds like Tortorella is going to make it a rough season for the forward.
What do you think of Tortorella's comments?
Tortorella: "(Dubois) hasn't given a reason why he wants to leave. He should get in front of it. That's the way I think you should go about your business, and be the best team you can be." #CBJ
