The Los Angeles Kings look like they'll be returning to the Stanley Cup playoffs after failing to qualify last year.
Anything could happen though as the team is in third place of the Pacific Division so they'll want to solidify that spot.
The team will get a huge boost when Jeff Carter returns to the lineup from injury, which will let them move Adrian Kempe back to the third line.
The team has been mentioned in rumours with Max Pacioretty, Patrick Maroon and Michael Grabner.
However according to The Fourth Period, the team is looking to also add veteran defenseman Dion Phaneuf of the Ottawa Senators.
Phaneuf would probably appreciate a fresh start with the Senators going through so many struggles. The Fourth Period adds the Kings will take on Phaneuf however it'll require the Sens to eat some of the $7million cap hit. Considering the Sens financial struggles, as badly as they might want to unload Phaneuf and his contract, they might not be able to retain any salary at all.
