While the NHL season has been on pause, there's been lots of players leaving the KHL to sign contracts with the NHL and vice versa.
One of those players left the KHL to sign a deal with the Los Angeles Kings, however it seems that has all gone down the drain.
Defenseman Nikita Nesterov had reportedly set up a verbal agreement to sign a contract with the Kings.
The two year deal would bring Nesterov back to the NHL after a three year deal in the KHL with CSKA.
However that has reportedly fallen apart and the Kings no longer want anything to do with Nesterov.
It's a tough blow for the 27 year old who walked away from a five year extension with CSKA to take the Kings deal.
He'll now sit in limbo.
Championat is saying that the Kings pulled their contract offer to Nikita Nesterov. He was reportedly going to sign a two-year deal. He had a handshake agreement for a five-year extension with CSKA, but backed out when the offer to return to the NHL came in.
