Yesterday we had some headlines in Edmonton after Oilers' head coach Dave Tippett called out his goalie following another loss.
Goalie Mikko Koskinen had given up a brutal giveaway to start the game and things went downhill from there, something Tippett wasn't happy about at all.
“Our goaltending wasn’t very good, and we didn’t get enough pucks to the net to get back in the game,”
"It’s a brutal mistake,” the coach said. “What are you going to do? Call it what it is. We’re playing well, and it’s a brutal mistake.”
With those quotes making headlines across the hockey world, Koskinen was asked about it and he was able to shoot right back.
”It’s not nice being thrown under the bus. I have to be better but at the same time we scored 7 goals in my last 6 losses. I can’t score goals.”
There's been reports that Tippett is on the hot seat and even reports that Oilers' general manager Ken Holland could reach out to an old friend in Mike Babcock to take over.
With a public spat with his starting goalie, do you think Tippett has much more time left in Edmonton?
