It was one of the best rivalries in hockey for many years, died down a bit, but now it looks like it's officially back.

The events between Zack Kassian and Matthew Tkachuk on January 11 got the hockey world talking again as the two went after it all game long.

Unfortunately for Kassian, his actions resulted in a two game suspension.

Not only has the battle happened on the ice between the two Alberta cities, but it's also become an interesting battle off the ice between fans.

Flames fans along with Bell Media have bought a billboard in Edmonton promoting the "Matthew Tkachuk Friendship Tour" coming January 29. Originally a GoFundMe campaign, Bell Media announced that they would pay for the billboards and the GoFundMe money would go to ALS research which ended up being $25k.

Oilers' fans didn't sit back and watch it happen, they decided to go straight to it and honoured Kassian by donating to a Calgary charity called "Brown Bagging It" which provides meals to kids and as Oilers' fans put it, so “kids can get a proper meal and grow up to be tougher than Tkachuk”.

That campaign raised $37k.

Check out a picture of the billboard below and get ready to for the Flames-Oilers rematch which takes place January 29 which also marks Kassian's return for the suspension he got going after Tkachuk.
