It's been a summer like no other in NHL history.

We're just a couple of weeks away from the opening of training camp and there still remains over 30 unsigned restricted free agents.

These aren't just middling players, they are guys who will be the future faces of the NHL.

Mitch Marner has already held discussions with a European team to possibly jump overseas if he doesn't have a contract before training camp, and now Colorado Avalanche star Mikko Rantanen might be already prepared to do the same.

Rantanen has started skating with the Storhamar Dragons of the Norwegian hockey league GET-ligaen.

There's been chatter that the Avs and Rantanen's camp haven't even spoken in months.

The 22 year old had 87 points in 74 games last season.
