It's that time of the year again, it's crunch time with roster cuts and teams are trying to trade players instead of losing them for nothing on waivers.
The lastest player to be placed on the trade block is Matt Benning of the Edmonton Oilers.
Alan Mitchell of The Athletic reports that the Oilers have loaded up on too many defenseman and that Benning is the odd man out.
Youngster Joel Persson looks like he's earned himself a roster spot while playing with Oskar Klefbom.
Benning signed a two year contract last year and will earn $1.9million for this season.
For @TheAthleticEDM The Oilers are thin at centre but have several young defencemen pushing. Matt Benning may be vulnerable to a trade as Ken Holland works to tweak Oilers roster. https://t.co/5xpLM9LnoF #Oilers
