The Pittsburgh Penguins are currently riding a three game losing streak and currently sit outside a playoff spot.

While it's still early and things can change, it doesn't seem like the Penguins are on the path to a successful season.

Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford isn't impressed with the team's effort and is looking to make some changes.

To start, forward Daniel Sprong will likely be on the move soon if there's a taker, the 21 year old hasn't been able to earn some proper ice time and has fallen down the depth chart.

“We hoped Sprong would be in the top nine,” Rutherford said. “He hasn’t jumped ahead of anybody on the right side so he’s playing on the fourth line. It’s not ideal.”

Sprong might not be the only player shipped out of town if the Pens don't put it together according to Rutherford.

“Has this team been together too long? It’s something I always have to watch for,” Rutherford said. “When do you have to make those changes? The players are doing everything they can to tell me now’s the time.”
