He was supposed to be the perfect winger for forward Evgeni Malkin, instead it looks like he'll be shipped out of town.
According to various reports, Pittsburgh Penguins forward Alex Galchenyuk won't make it through a full season in Pittsburgh.
He's already been called out by his coach, most recently called out by his GM and now it seems it's just a matter of time he won't be playing for either of them.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman is one of multiple insiders that report Galchneyuk is currently being shopped.
Friedman adds that the Buffalo Sabres who are looking for forward depth have looked into the possibility.
“I do think Buffalo was one of the teams that looked at him,” Friedman said during the Headlines segment of Hockey Night in Canada. “I’m sure there’s more. But Galchenyuk is someone who could be finding a new home.”
The Sabres have a surplus of defense and the Penguins are always in need of some of defenseman.
Galchenyuk seems to be far from the player who scored 30 goals back in 2015-16 for the Montreal Canadiens.
