The San Jose Sharks were able to get out of the Evander Kane situation last week as they terminated his contract.

There was some chatter that about 10-12 teams were immediately interested in Kane, but many believed it was just a PR move by his agent to drum up interest.

Well it sounds like it was true after all.

Reports indicate the Kane is close to signing with the Edmonton Oilers.

It would likely be a cheap one year prove it deal and general manager Ken Holland coincedently met with the media today.

He was obviously asked about the reports circulating and his response was very telling.

"Well I've talked to his agent... as a manager it's my responsibility to investigate every situation... I believe in second chances."

Kane had 8 points in 5 games during his short stint in the AHL before his contract was terminated.

Do you think he'd be a good fit in Edmonton or a disaster waiting to happen?
