The Carolina Hurricanes appear to be very active in the trade market right now.

According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the team is ready to go "all in" to land Toronto Maple Leafs' forward William Nylander if he's placed on the trade block.

While a trade for Nylander would likely mean moving a defenseman, it looks like the team is also trying to get rid of a young forward.

In his latest "31 Thoughts" article, Friedman states the Hurricanes are testing the trade market for 23 year old forward Valentin Zykov.

Zykov only has three assists in 13 games so far this season after registering seven points in 10 games last year for the Hurricanes while also adding 33 goals in 63 games in the AHL.

The young winger has one more year left on his deal that pays him $675k a year, and likely wouldn't cost a lot to land the forward.

He's an interesting gamble considering he's just 23 years old and a 2013 second round pick.
