The Winnipeg Jets open up their 2020-21 season tonight as they host the Calgary Flames.

They'll be doing so with young forward Patrik Laine even though he requested a trade back in October.

The Jets have yet to fulfill his wish because they don't plan to just trade him away for peanuts, the other road block is that Laine is a restricted free agent after this season and any team willing to acquire him will only do so knowing they have a chance at signing him to a long term extension.

According to Eklund from HockeyBuzz, Laine has let it be known where he wants to go.

Eklund reports that Laine at the moment is more than willing to sign an extension with the Los Angeles Kings or Anaheim Ducks.

Of the two squads, the Kings would likely be the team with the upper hand with their deep prospect pool to send pieces back to Winnipeg.

Do you think Laine would be a good fit on either of these teams?
