The Pittsburgh Penguins continue their free fall in the standings and currently sit in last place of the Eastern Conference standings.
After being given a three year extension, Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford mentioned that if the team continues to struggle some major changes will happen.
Now NHL Insider Bob McKenzie reports that the Penguins are "very much open for business".
McKenzie states that everybody is on the trade block aside from Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.
That means guys like Kris Letang and Phil Kessel are available, however he adds that "those big deals are hard to make. But, open for business nonetheless.”
While a huge deal might take awhile to put together, we might see some deals involving Daniel Sprong, Olli Maatta, Bryan Rust and Riley Sheahan before that.
