With the start of the NHL season just around the corner, the San Jose Sharks are far from having resolved the Evander Kane situation.

Reports have indicated that the Sharks players don't want Kane back this season however it seems he does have a supporter in the locker.

It just so happens to be the team's best young forward.

Tomas Hertl is a good friend of Kane and doesn't appreciate how the team has handled the situation.

Not good news considering that the alternate captain is in the final year of his contract becoming UFA next year.

Sharks' insider Kevin Kurz reports that Hertl might not want to stick around because of how they've handled the situation and the overall team culture.

Kurz adds that the Sharks will likely not be willing to trade him until the deadline.

What kind of a return do you think the Sharks could get for the 27 year old?
