The Columbus Blue Jackets barely remain in the playoff picture holding on by a thread.
While they only sit three points behind the Nashville Predators and the Chicago Blackhawks for the final playoff spot, the team just can't seem to get over their offensive and defensive struggles going 3-4-3 in their last 10 games.
It's expected that the Blue Jackets will move out a couple of veterans and one that is almost guaranteed to go is defenseman David Savard.
The 30 year old is in the final year of his deal that carries a $4.25million AAV and which doesn't carry any trade protection.
He can eat minutes and would definitely be a great addition for any playoff team.
So what exactly would it cost to land Savard?
According to Columbus Blue Jackets insider Aaron Portzline of the Athletic, as of now the Blue Jackets are looking for a first round pick but waiting until the trade deadline could likely land them a first and prospect.
Would you give this up for the 30 year old?
